Can I Use Hdmi 2.1 On Ps4. My lack of desire to raid apparently makes me a filthy casual. Its maximum data transmission rate is 48.0.

Almost no games can run at 4k 120hz unless its a old game that received some kind of support for ps5. Via video capture, cardmaking laptop screen enabled for playing ps4 with. That means a premium hdmi cable, the same one we recommend for ps4 pro, is still just fine for a ps5.

Nearly A Year After Launch, Only A Couple Of Games Have Managed To Reach 4K 120Hz, While The Majority Are 4K 60Hz Or Lower.

The upscaling happens after the tv receives it. Yes, just not at 4k 120 hz, dont think you will ever need it tbh. There are two speeds in hdmi cables, it doesnt go like 1.4, 2.0 and 2.1 needed their own versions.

First, Video Under 2.1 Will Remain, As In Previous Versions Of The Hdmi Spec, Uncompressed.

If you dont have a tv that supports the new features of 2.1 then it will work just the same any other hdmi. There are high speed hdmi cables also referred by hdmi 2.0 (2.0a) 2.1 which have higher bandwidth and are capable at transferring certain signals at higher resolutions at higher refresh rates, along with hdr. My lack of desire to raid apparently makes me a filthy casual.

Thats Because Hdmi 2.1 Covers A Number Of Technologies, Including Capability For 4K Gaming At 120Hz, Or 8K.

Hdmi 2.1 can support 4k at a better resolution of 120fps or 8k at a resolution of 60fps. Hdmi 2.1 just allows the higher refresh rates of tvs with 2.1 ports. Using ps4 hdmi 2.0 cable on ps5 hdmi 2.1, does hdmi 2.0 works on ps5 with 4k 120hz?

The Ps4 Uses Hdmi 2.0 Which Is A Port Specification, Not A Cable Specification.

Lionhartwolf 1 year ago #7. Hdmi 2.0 doesnt have the bandwidth to transfer rgb color range at 4k/60hz using hdr10 so it automatically switches to yuv422 which is the best alternative for now. Most of the talk about hdmi 2.1 so far has been about support for 8k resolution (7,680 x 4,320) video.

Both Of These New Consoles Must Have A Tv That Supports Hdmi 2.1 To Work Properly.

Quick google tells me that on that tv, hdmi 3/4 are hdmi 2.1 while hdmi 1/2 are hdmi 2.0. That means a premium hdmi cable, the same one we recommend for ps4 pro, is still just fine for a ps5. For the ps5, i would go for hdmi 3/4 so you can get 4k120 fps.
